Homemade Settlers of Catan - 04 Painting

1-Sculpting | 2-Molds | 3-Casting | 4-Painting |5-Packaging | 6-Finishes

Painting. I have to admit that I had never understood the desire of some people to paint miniature game pieces before until I started mixing colors and putting layers of paint down on my own. It was a nice escape from reality. Put on some calm music and don't think about the stressful parts of your life. Just paint.

I only used a pure paint color straight from the bottle on a couple accents. Most of the time I would mix 3 colors to get a nice natural finish. Then as it was starting to dry I would dab on a mix of 3 other colors to create a layer affect. If the piece needed it I would dab on a third mix.

Leaning in painting for a couple minutes you don't see the entire piece that is until you lean back to stretch. Then you this little world you created and it doesn't look half bad.
