Renovation 1 - Porch 90%

My backyard kinda sucked upon moving in but that's nothing I can't take care of... right?

How to improve it. Hmmm. How about a 12'x30' screened in porch? I had an existing slab and flat roof already off of the back of my house so it was just a matter of throwing some wood at it. After creating multiple designs I went with a style with a hint of oriental about it. I would later discover that most of my project, although unintentional, would gravitate toward the oriental stylings of China to some degree.

As you can see with a little bit of work (and changing of seasons) the project is successful so far.

While laying the wood floor I made the descision of lower the outter part of the roof, sinct it was previously flat. I then screened in the porch and addeds some sweet bamboo screen/door hardware. My ol' bumper pool table has made its way onto the scene with a handful of chairs.

Recent acquasition of some nice shoji grid/plexi-glass will help define and enhance the porch layout and design as this project comes to a crawl.

It is nice yet I would not want to deal with wood rot I would put sealant on it once every three years and add more shrubs. maintenance can increase the value of a house easily
